How We Get Paid
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we can and do charge our fees and costs to the credit bureaus and other lenders that provide misleading or inaccurate information on people’s credit reports. We get our clients the greater of actual damages or statutory damages of up to $1,000 as allowed by law. We also make the defendants in our cases pay our fees and costs.
When cleaning up your credit report, we will send a dispute letter to the credit bureaus. They have 30 days to fix the error or mistake that we have pointed out to them. If they do, then your credit report has been cleaned up and there is still no charge for our services. If we have to file a lawsuit, then as part of the settlement, we make them pay our fees and costs.
